In the small village of Sefro, nestled among woods and springs, the “Florindo Ferretti” Museum of Rural Life is an intimate and authentic place where time seems to stand still.

Located in the Da Varano Tower, it houses hundreds of tools from rural and artisanal life, patiently collected by Florindo Ferretti, who—with tenacity and a love for his homeland—has saved an entire world of knowledge from oblivion.

Amid plows, scythes, millstones, and sieves, visitors discover the slow rhythms of farm life, as well as the hard work and ingenuity of the generations that have shaped the landscape of the Upper Potenza Valley.

Every object tells a story: the winemaker’s barrel, the reaper’s basket, the blacksmith’s forge… all testaments to a community that has turned craftsmanship into an art and work into a form of identity.

The museum, which can be visited by appointment, is today a small guardian of rural heritage, but also a symbol of respect for the past and gratitude toward those who lived in harmony with nature.
