The events of “The Hymn of Creation in the Upper Potenza Valley: A Journey Through Museums, Villages, and Nature” continue. This project by the Upper Potenza Valley Museum Network brings together the region’s cultural and landscape heritage with Franciscan thought and the Canticle of the Creatures.
Three new hiking adventures are scheduled for August, featuring nature, archaeology, and industrial archaeology.
On Saturday, August 8, in the morning, the group will set out from Pioraco for the nature hike “The Franciscan Trail from Pioraco to Sefro”: a route of about 13 kilometers surrounded by nature, along the Scarzito stream and through places linked to the Franciscan tradition.
In the afternoon, the group will head to San Severino Marche for the cultural hike “In the Footsteps of St. Francis: Between Archaeology and Industrial Archaeology,” an itinerary connecting the “Giuseppe Moretti” Civic Archaeological Museum and the MUSET—Museum of Electricity and the Territory. The museum collections will serve as a starting point for reflecting on the themes of Creation, light, energy, fragility, and the relationship between humans and the environment.
The cultural hike will also take place on Sunday, August 23, in the afternoon, offering another opportunity to discover San Severino Marche through a unique perspective that combines heritage, history, and Franciscan philosophy.
The activities are organized in collaboration with Marche Active Tourism.
Admission is free, but reservations are required, subject to availability.
