Born from the merger of two museums—the “O. Poleti” Museum of the Territory and the Borgo Conce Museums—MusET, the Museum of Electricity and the Territory, serves as a living testament to the relationship between people, the environment, and innovation.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time, beginning in the 16th century, passing through the Industrial Revolution, and extending to the present day, chronicling the emergence of the first manufacturing activities and the evolution of the work culture in the Settempeda area.
The main location, on Viale Bigioli, is dedicated to the life of local communities: the objects on display, the machinery, and the photographs evoke the atmosphere of a time when energy—even before electricity—came from human hands and ingenuity. Here, visitors can discover the artisanal skills, shops, workshops, and trades that have shaped the identity of the region.
The second site, in Borgo Conce, is a place of unique historical and environmental significance in the Marche region. Within its stone walls, the old hydroelectric power plants stand as a testament to San Severino’s ability to combine respect for nature with a drive for progress. The waters of the Potenza River, which for centuries have powered mills and factories, become here a symbol of renewed energy and continuity with the past.
Visiting MusET means rediscovering the connection between people and places, between human creativity and natural resources. It is a journey through time, but also a message for the future: the realization that every innovation, to be truly sustainable, must remain rooted in memory and respect for the local area.
