On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, the Alta Valle del Potenza Museum Network is pleased to present an evocative, region-wide itinerary that brings together the museums, the landscape, and the historical memory of the area with the most significant passages from the Canticle of the Creatures. Passing through the towns of Castelraimondo, Pioraco, San Severino Marche, and Sefro, this route invites visitors to rediscover our cultural and natural heritage through the Franciscan perspective. Each stop arises from a profound connection between a site in the Network and a word from the Canticle—from the Earth that nourishes to the Water that transforms, all the way to the Wind as a return to the essential—transforming the visit into a journey of connection, gratitude, and responsibility toward creation.
One Step Further: Hiking with Marche Active Tourism
To fully experience the essence of this itinerary and immerse yourself completely in the beauty of our valley, the project features an extraordinary initiative: a series of guided nature and cultural hikes, organized in collaboration with the professionals at Marche Active Tourism.
These won’t be mere excursions, but true journeys on foot through objects, stories, nature, and communities—designed to create a dialogue between the experience of walking in the open air and the cultural riches preserved in our museums.
